Bernard was brought up in an affluent, well-educated, cultured circle. He was educated at Kensington Grammar School, London, and Cheltenham College.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e1891 Hall was appointed director of the National Gallery of Victoria and head of the Art School. He arrived in Melbourne early in 1892.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs a teacher, hall taught in the Munich system.
